Easy Trucking Software Quick Start Guide Part 3

Once you get Easy Trucking Software you naturally want to get going with it as quickly as you can. So, let’s outline the steps needed to start quickly with Easy Trucking Soft-ware

Getting started with Fuel Manager

To use Fuel Manager to keep track of your IFTA fuel taxes, click on the Fuel Manager button. 

This will take you to the trip entry screen.  For each state that your truck goes through, you must enter a record by clicking on NEW entering the date, truck number, state, miles traveled in that state, and gallons of fuel purchased if any. 

You must enter a record for each state you drive through whether or not you purchase fuel in that state. 

Easy Trucking Software allows you to change the fuel tax rates yourself.  Other companies charge as much as $400 a year for this service. 

In order for Easy Trucking Software to show you the correct tax table, you need to be on an entry in the trip entry screen for the quarter that you want to change.  Then click on the tax table tab. 

On the tax table tab, top right, there should be a date that is in the quarter that you want to change.  If there is no date, Easy Trucking Software does not know which tax table to show you. 

When the tax table is shown, it is easy to change the rate by just typing the new one in. 

There is a button on the bottom of that screen called fuel tax rates on the internet.  If you click on that it will take you to the IFTA.org website where you can look up the tax rates on the internet.

The last tab is reports. 

This is where you find out the information that your IFTA tax form requires. 

The first thing you would do is select the quarter and year that you want to report on 

Second, is click on the corresponding report for that quarter. 

The report that mirrors the IFTA report is the totals report.  When you click on it, it will give you a report that you need to complete your IFTA for the quarter and year you selected. 

In order to print that totals report, click on file, then print and the first field in the print dialogue box will say current record.  Change that to records being browsed and select print. 

Using Fuel Manager will save you a lot of time and money.
