Let me say that again, Always back up your entries after using Easy Trucking Software.

By doing this simple step it will save you time and money.

Now let me guide you through doing this………

There are two ways to back up.

The easiest is to click on the back up button in the main menu of Easy Trucking Software. When you click on the back up button a dialogue box called create copy will appear.  The first field is save in and it will say default. 

If you save it in default and something happens to your hard drive, you will lose your information. It is always a good idea to back up your software to somewhere else other than your hard drive.  One of the easiest ways and safest is to get a USB Flash Drive.  They are available just about anywhere that sells electronics.  Any size above 256 mg is OK and you should be able to buy this for between $10-20. 

If you want to back up to a USB flash drive, when create copy appears instead of default, click on the down arrow button and select your Flash Drive.  This will only back up your data not the program.

NOTE - your flash drive must be plugged in to appear in the drop down list.

Once the flash drive is selected in save in, click on the save button and continue to click on the save button for all the files that it saves. 

The preferred and BEST way to back up Easy Trucking Software is again to use a flash drive but this time instead of selecting back up from Easy Trucking Software, click on start button, then select my computer, then double click on local disc c, then double click on program files.  Find the E T S folder, click on it so it is highlighted, then right click, select send to, and select your flash drive. 

This will save the entire Easy Trucking Software program to your flash drive along with all your data.  Using this method is also the way to transfer Easy Trucking Software from one computer to another and have it work seamlessly.

If something happens to your program or computer and you need to restore the backup, just reverse the process.  Copy the Easy Trucking Software folder off your flash drive and into program files in local disc c.

PS  Your flash drive will appear in the drop down if you have if you have it plugged in at the time of backup.

It is absolutely necessary to back up your Easy Trucking Software on a regular basis.  A lot of users back up on a daily basis.  If you do that the most work you can use is 1 day.

I don’t know about you, but I hate retyping and re-entering information I have already done.  If you use this backup system that should never happen to you and you will have peace of mind that your hard work is saved.
