Using Easy Trucking Software On The Road

Now you can use your trucking software and the internet and check your email all with-out paying the high monthly fees at truck stops for internet access.

Have you ever been on the road and wanted to use the internet?  You get into a truck stop for the evening or weekend and you’d like to get on the internet to check your email, check the load boards like getloaded.com, use your trucking software or just past time. 

You check out the internet access and find that the truck stop wants to charge you $10 per day or if you sign up for a monthly plan it’s $30 a month.  And that’s just for one truck stop chain.  There are several wi-fi providers that are in various places, but they too want to charge you an arm and a leg for internet access..  using wi-fi to access the internet on the road has many limitations. 

You need to be close to the wi-fi antenna, which is usually located at a truck stop or hotel.  Many times there is an expensive fee to access that wi-fi.  That just doesn’t get the job done.

Several cell phone carriers have announced internet access through their network.  How this works is you buy a cellular modem that slides into the PC slot on your laptop.  Once you have that card slid in you can access the internet just like you do at home. 

There are several different carriers that provide this service for example, Cingular and Verizon. 

I have checked out both carriers and have found that Verizon offers the best bang for the buck.  They have many different wireless PC modems that you can use with your laptop and if you sign up for a 2 year service contract, the price can be as little as $59 per month. 

 What makes Verizon so attractive is the area in which you can access the internet.  They are virtually nationwide.  So almost anytime you have to sit, you can access the internet. 

You no longer have to look for wi-fi spots and pay expensive fees.  You just pay just one monthly fee to Verizon and you have limitless access to the internet. 

Currently, Verizon is charging $59 per month for their unlimited access plan.  That is a great price considering you can use it just about anywhere that you are and you can also use it when you are at home. 

Another big plus for Verizon is that they have been rolling out high-speed broad band access in various cities across the country.  What that means is that if you are in the area of one of those cities you will be able to access the internet at cable speeds. 

If you are looking for convenience and ease of use along with the ability to use the internet just about anywhere that you are and use your trucking software, Verizon is the way to go.
